You know what kind of online business you want to start. Now you need to know more about choosing an E-Commerce solution for your business. Here are some things to look for if you want an all-in-one provider.

Look for a site that offers a wide range of templates. Though you can usually customize templates, you need to start with a variety to choose from.

When choosing an E-Commerce solution for your business, look for one that has a good wizard that walks you through everything. Ease of use is important so you can get your site up fast and professionally and make later changes easily.

Look at the possibilities for importing and exporting data. If you already have a database and choose a vendor that does not allow you to import it, you will have to retype everything. Export capabilities save you that same hassle should you ever choose a new vendor.

When choosing an e-commerce solution for your business, look for hosts who offer a variety of marketing options, payment options for your customers, and automated shipping options. If the client can’t pay the way he wants, he won’t buy. If shipping doesn’t happen quickly, he may not be a repeat client.

Look for a site that allows you to analyze traffic flow. In order for your business to grow, you need to see what kinds of marketing are working for it.

This is just a start of what to look for when choosing an e-commerce solution for your business. You also need to look at such things as cost and customer service. Choosing the right hosted solution can take some time, but getting it right the first time is important. Take the time to choose a provider who will help your business grow.

As businesses providing services and goods that can be purchased online, ask yourselves this question: am I doing everything I can to enable my visitors to buy my products?

Are you offering them a complete range of payment options? Or are you, like some many online businesses, making the mistake of assuming everyone has a valid credit or debit card? They don’t.

In fact, over 11% of the population of the United States doesn’t have a credit or debit card and, of course, millions more are maxed out at any one time. Do you really want to ignore 30 million plus potential customers? No? Didn’t think so.

The solution is to offer check payments to customers. With the increased availability of online check solutions for all sizes of business, problems normally associated with accepting checks – such as delays in receiving payment, bad checks and the additional banking time – are largely a thing of the past.

ADVANTAGES OF ONLINE CHECK PROCESSING

A complete online check processing service will include check verification, so you can determine whether an account is overdrawn or closed before dispatching goods; the ability to accept checks by fax and phone as well as online; fast, automated transfer of funds from the customers account to yours and even electronic check recovery.

As well as increasing the number of potential customers, there are other advantages of such a solution for any online business. These include :

Eliminates “the check is in the mail” syndrome.

Allows faster access to funds than waiting for check payment by mail.

Reduces labor costs associated with physical check processing.

Cheaper than accepting credit cards and lower risk of credit card charge backs.

Saves on expensive invoicing and mailing costs.

CHOOSING AN ONLINE CHECK PROCESSOR

There are a number of companies offering third party online check processing services, many of whom also provide integration with your current shopping cart. The smaller online business would be well advised to choose a service that takes a small percentage of the value of each check with no monthly minimum number of transactions. On the other hand, companies dealing with larger check values may find that a transaction processor offering a flat fee per check is a better option.

Whichever option you choose, online check processing can both increase your customer base and streamline your current billing processes. It maybe time you asked your customers to get their checks out at checkout.

Handing business cards is ordinary in the business world. You can see businessmen trade business cards after meeting, after a chat, dinner and the likes. Business cards are so tiny that they are pretty accessible. They are not as big and as heavy as other promotional tools. In fact they are the handiest marketing tool these days. Hence, they are easy to carry and dispense.

People from all walks of life need business cards. Whether you are a teacher, real estate agent, lawyer, doctor, engineer or businessman, you need business cards to grab a better position in the marketing world. In fact, all sorts of business, profession, hobbies and personalities can benefit from business cards. Big companies all over the globe use business card marketing. It is one of the factors why they stay on the apex of success. In addition, business cards are critical in keeping your customers. Aside from that, they are also the easiest ways to make a good and lasting impression.

The competition is getting stiffer and stiffer each day. We have to cope up with the competition to stay standing tall. Business cards can be our saving grace. Though, they are tiny but its importance cannot be overemphasized. They are not only effective but inexpensive as well. Compared to other networking and marketing tools, business cards are far more effectual and practical. Nevertheless, they must pass quality and meticulous planning, printing and distribution process so as to achieve their full potentials.

Planning is the key factor why we have effective business cards. It is the basic phase where we conceptualize what we want for our business cards. Business card printing is an essential stage in the undertaking. The design, colors, images or logo of business cards must directly reflect the identity of the business or company. The design and printing process must also be of high-quality to have an excellent result. Remember that attention-grabbing and functional business cards make tour goals happen. Finally, business cards have to be dispensed. But the common mistake that must be avoided at all cost is dispensing them to the wrong target. Moreover, give business cards to your real business leads. Or else you will just be wasting your hard-earned money for nothing.

Jo knew that events could be advertised in the Trade Magazines linked to her company’s line of business but, as a newcomer to event organization, with a non-existent advertising budget and with no marketing expert at her elbow; where should she begin?

Some of the best advertising you can get is editorial written about your event or your company. Print media like trade journals, magazines and newspapers are often looking to fill their pages and you may have noticed that articles about companies and their activities are often surrounded by advertising for related businesses. Most print media is paid for by the advertising, so this type of article has benefits both ways. If the topic of your workshop or roadshow is a controversial, exciting or popular subject, it is more likely that an article about it will be printed however you have little control over the timing. The article might be included in any month and will be driven more by space than by your deadline.

To get an article printed, all you might have to do is lift the telephone and talk to the editorial staff of your chosen publications. If you are a persuasive person they may send someone to interview you and your colleagues. They will then write the article without further reference and the next you will see is the printed word.

Press Releases

You may be in the position where you need to contact a large number of publications to let them know about your event, you may also want to get noticed by current affairs or business programs on television and radio. To ensure consistency and as much accuracy as possible, it is worth producing a Press Release that explains what the event is all about, who it is aimed at and all of the details about venue and timing.

A press release should be produced in a certain way. It ought to be written in the third person (he, she, it and they), it should have an introductory paragraph that more or less tells the whole story, it must not extend to much more than a single page and, where possible, include quotes from specific people. Make sure the people are happy to be quoted in print and try, where possible, to use unambiguous wording to avoid embarrassment. The release should finish with the contact details of the person to be approached if further information is needed.

A good journalist can produce a 750 word article from a well written press release without any reference back to the company. Some trade publications devote several pages to listings of industry specific events. Your press release will, at least, improve your chances of being included in those lists.

Producing a press release and Emailing or posting it is only the beginning of your promotional activity. Follow up with as many phone calls as you can program in to get your story to the top of the pile as often as possible.

Jo was amazed at how easy it was to compile a press release by getting ideas from everyone involved in the event. She pulled them together in one document and circulated copies to every relevant magazine, paper and even local radio. The response was surprising; local and national newspapers picked up the story, one television production company has even signed them up for a documentary show. Starting from a situation where Jo thought no sane person would be interested in their event, the publicity seemed to take on a life of its own and they were soon booking repeat sessions to meet the demand.

Telemarketers… ooohhh… I’ll bet we’ve all got a nice story to tell about these guys & gals don’t we? Well here’s a story i’ll never forget and I’ll show you how to turn a sales call into a sale for you!
So I’m sitting in my office one day and mind you at the moment I didn’t have a helper to screen my call for me and don’t you know it, I get a telemarketer.

See, I used to be in a few network marketing programs and I know how hard it is to get rejections on the phone. Some of us take it very personal and some just don’t care. But I assert you this, whichever one you are, cold calling isn’t an easy business.

When someone calls me to sell me something I will only talk to them if they too will listen to a promotion I’m offering, only fair right? You’d be amazed at how many won’t listen to you so why would you listen to them?

I make it a point to tell them that my specialty is promoting and if they want to have any of my time, they will have to listen to me 1st. No exceptions.

So one day, I get this call from this really nice guy who completely understood my deal and accepted to hear what I had to say. Usually, I will pick one of my clients and and only promote that one client to the other person on the phone. Trying to promote 2 or more at a time is like road kill, you don’t want to confuse the other person.

With this conversation on the phone with this telemarketer I explain to him that I have a client in the Transport industry and he deals with all kinds of shipping services. What I usually do is ask the other person on the phone if he can recall anyone who mentioned to him that they needed to ship something!!!

With that, this gentlemen on the phone says “I’m actually looking into shipping a small package overseas”. Now, I’m fully aware that he can just say whatever he wants and possibly get me to finally listen to him so I immediately conferenced him with the transport company to give them his contact information so that they can send him an information package.

Once the call was complete, I returned the favor for allowing me to discuss one of the promotions my company was taking care of and asked the gentlemen to explain what it was he was calling for. It turns out that he was trying to sell a magazine subscription for health issues. I told him that I wasn’t interested but I had a client who was in the health industry so I gave this gentlemen my clients information to contact him

Going back to the transport company, it turned out that the telemarketer actually did take their services and in return the owner of the transport company took a year subscription of the health magazine I told you about!

Now that’s not often it happens like the way it did but just remember that telemarketers are people as well and they too also know other people. There’s a great book that I feel is of the best on this type of promoting and anyone committed to their sales should read it…

It’s called: Endless Referrals By: Bob Burg

“A must read”.

So next time a telemarketer calls you, you’ll know what to do and if they reject hearing your offer, be kind and let them go!

Hope you’ve enjoyed my story!

The secret to a successful business is to attract and hold the attention of consumers. When you are trying to establish a market strategy that will be effective you need to make sure you include many different types of ways to approach consumers. One of the ways you can attract buyers is by advertising.

A key component of a successful business is to find customers on a massive scale; this can be done through outdoor advertisement. It does not make a difference if your company is an older company or one new to the market, you still can greatly benefit from outdoor advertising.

You can advertise outdoors in many different forms, for example one unique way to advertise is by using a blimp, the Good-year blimp is the most well-known by most consumers. Blimps are made from a strong tarp, and are used by floating in a designated area to attract customer attention. Normally blimps are used over large events such as car racing, horse races, football games, or even fairgrounds.

If you are a small business and don’t want to put a lot of money into advertisement you can use balloons to attract attention from consumers. Placing these inflatable balloons above tents and marquees can attract quite an inquisitive crowd. Since balloons and blimps are both made from a type of tarp material they can withstand a lot of the elements nature has to offer.

There are so many tarp companies to choose from that it may take a little time to find the one who specializes in your specific needs. You want to have the right marketing tool for what you are trying to advertise. Another thing to take into consideration is the quality of the tarp you want to purchase. You want a trap can hold up to the elements it will be surrounded by. If you have a tarp that is beaten and weathered down, consumers may associate this with your merchandise also being of poor quality, in which case you have bad advertising.

The purpose of using a tarp is to get the publics attention and bring them into your place of business, hopefully resulting in sales. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by using an outdoor advertisement that is made of high-quality. You want one with a strong message that gets the consumers attention, and strikes up their curiosity.

Multi-national corporate giants, successful entrepreneurial companies, and all other major conglomerates have one thing in common. No, it is not money, though this is something they all seem to have abundance of. It is something that you will find if you trace the roots of the business back to its origins. It all started with one individual who know how to sell him/herself.

Anyone can sell a product. Its very simple. What you get is what you see. The prospective buyer can look at it, touch it, compare it to other similar products, and buy it if he/she so chooses. The seller simply talks about it to the customer. A service works the same way. The salesperson makes a presentation, states the pros of the service, what it can do for the consumer, and makes the sale.

Selling yourself however, is a little more involved. No two people are identical in every aspect, so no one really knows what to expect from them. You cannot sell by appearance. At the same time, you cannot sell yourself by experience either. Oh, that will get you a bite, but it will not hook the fish. One might stretch the truth a bit about their experience, and the buyer will know that. So how does one sell him/herself successfully? There are several different methods when utilized simultaneously will produce very positive results.

1)First impressions: First impressions do matter. Actually, this is the most important part of the whole process of establishing a positive relationship. Regardless if your meeting is via email, online messenger, or in person, that first two minutes of your confrontation will be the most helpful or harmful. Make that initial contact work! Do not kiss up, be professional, and be courteous. Act interested in this person in regards to whatever subject they are most fascinated with. Make it about them, not you. People want to be impressive. If you act impressed, but not childish, they will respond positively.

2)Your Client has Priority: You may have two thousand clients and you may only have five or six. Regardless, whatever individual you are dealing with at any given moment needs to feel like they are your most important client.

3)One Hundred and Ten Percent: Of course, there is no such concept. You can only give one hundred percent, as that is all there is. However, you can give one hundred percent of what the individual is paying for and then give ten percent for free. If you are, for example, offering to submit ten websites to a search engine for a client for a fee, do so. Then, submit an extra one for free, just because you care. This brings us to the next topic.

4)CARE! If you are in a business where you are only interested in making money and have no regard for the quality of your work or the welfare of the client, then your business is inevitably doomed for failure. You have to want your client to grow, to excel in his or her own business, for yours to grow. Remember, word of mouth is one of the best, and most damaging, forms of marketing. If you get a reputation for poor quality work, again you are headed for failure.

5)Availability: Try to be available to the customer at least a minimum of 8 hours per day, and even in the evenings if possible. People want to know that they can reach you at a moments notice without having a long wait. Waiting makes people irritable and stressed. This, in turn, puts a lot of stress on a professional relationship.

6)Be Personal: You will get more business out of friends than you will from business associates. The remedy for this issue is to make the business associates your friends. Do not be overwhelmingly intrusive and ask all sorts of questions at your initial contact. However, if the associate mentions an aspect of his life, such as his favorite food, drink, existence of children, etc, make a mental note. Let us take children for example. Lets say your associate mentions that he has to leave early to take his daughter to the doctor for a cough. Take note of that and next time you speak with them, ask about the daughters health. Is she okay? Then, associate your life with theirs. Something like, Shes going to be okay? That is great. I know what you are going through. My daughter just got over a stomach virus. You get to know them and they get to know you. Eventually, a relationship is formed and your business benefits.

7)Take Notes: Nothing will sell you better than the sudden realization that you have noticed your associates life. If you find out that your associate has a birthday coming up, send a card and a small gift, such as a box of chocolates, a beautiful pen, etc. If their child has a recital or a game in the near future, send a good luck card. Do not go too far and show up at the game; just let them know that you care enough to send a card. If it is special enough for your client to mention, then it should be special to you. Keep up with birthdays, favorite flowers, favorite drinks, television shows, and anything else that your associate is interested in.

If an aspiring businessperson can realize that they are the true product, learn the ins and outs of making themselves invaluable, then the actual product or service will be a successful sell.

Advertising is the key part of business marketing. If the advertisement succeeds, it can mean big profit. Advertising requires innovative thinking in todays world because the traditional advertising mediums are becoming very expensive. A well thought advertising that is different may create a big impact. But advertising is not being given the attention it deserves. As soon as the profits go down or the market scenario looks bad, advertising expenditures are cut first. How much do you know about advertising in a business? Please quiz yourself about that.

What should be the ideal percentage of advertising in total marketing expenditure?

Should the advertising expenditure increase with growing business or decrease?

Which advertising media should be used for advertising in a very low budget?

Should every business advertise in the beginning?

Are advertising professionals must for getting the best return out of the expenditure?

Is a small market survey about advertising effectiveness always necessary before full-fledged advertising campaign?

Do women add value to advertising? What if you are advertising nuts and bolts?

These are some small questions that I have raised about advertising in business. Please think about the answers. Advertising is tricky, because wrong advertising means total loss. There is no scrap left to recover anything. It is like a bad dream, but it costs. A business succeeds if the advertising succeeds at the right budget. Please try some more quizzes on your personality and career and improve your performance manifold.

Now lets be honest, way too many people believe the Internet is a place to become rich very quickly without any effort or sweat. They think that once you publish a web site, that you have a home business. Please do not expect riches and results from an online business started with that thought approach. Home business owners giving up or suffocating are clear indications that they did not read this article.

But there is good news, and the good news is that starting an online business is really worth every second if approached from the right angle and if you got what it takes to do it right. Imagine being your own boss as your first bonus, and then use your intelligence and motivation to make it work. The Time factor (lack of it) will always be a issue when creating your business, given the fact we all have jobs, families and all kind of distractions. But that easily solved. Manage your time dedicated to your business simply by using only the proven techniques, strategies, and todays technology. Dont go round the world for a shortcut.

Can you imagine what it would be like to be able to sit down at your computer and find your home business already built in a box? All you have to do is activate it. On the internet you can use anything from content sites and article sites, and you can easily find ready to go e-books, all kinds of software, online business products and even complete web sites, ready to be activated by you to give you the opportunity to build a home business with. However, they dont include the marketing techniques and strategies that any home business badly requires.

Marketing is a broad business subject that encompasses a range of activities including advertising, public relations, sales, and promotions. Generally, you will find that people tend confuse sales with marketing, when in fact the two are quite different. Marketing is all about getting a product or service into the market, promoting it, influencing behavior, and encouraging sales turnover. Sales, quite distinctly, is the actual transaction of getting a product or service into the hands of your customers. As you can probably gather, neither can be successful without the other.

With so many messages being propelled towards all of us these days, it is more critical than ever for a business to get their product noticed. This means marketers have evolved to being creative. Marketing is not an exact science and managers who know little about it are afraid that the marketing staff within their firm is often wasting valuable money. The truth is that marketing is an investment that always pays off; it just may come back in ways that are not necessarily measurable. So even though one campaign may bring moderate results, another will bring astonishing profits.

Take a tour of sites like Profits Yesterday, Surefire Wealth, and Simpleology. Here you will find many ideas and solutions for your home business. But none will be successful overnight. Success will come to you, but it will take considerable amount of effort, motivation, and determination to achieve results. And it all starts with YOU and a great business idea.

Do not under estimate your most valuable asset. The skill and knowledge you already have. Online Business takes passion and patience and the chances are that through your job got you many years of experience that you can easily share for profit. Get a copy of the book “Make Your Knowledge Sell”, and see for yourself just how your knowledge can make lots of money.

Many products and services which are killers for a home business are already out there and affiliate sales already exist. Take advantage of this by joining sites that sell content and ideas you can modify to suit your specific business needs. These days you can start your home based business in a few hours, but above most things, have a very good marketing plan before you start. Then use all information available on content sites and article sites to get the job done right.

But my most valuable advice to you in all cases is, make an ACTION PLAN because without it you are looking at the fastest way for your home business to fail. “Crawl before walk” is a well known phrase, and also the answer for faster home business profits.

To Your Success,

When was the last time you took a long critical look at your business card?

I’d bet you haven’t really thought about it since you initially got them printed.

Let’s stop for just a moment and ask, what is the point of your business card? Is it to simply fill the wallets of prospective clients, or is it something that should be driving more sales to your business?

I bet you answered in the latter. So what should your business card look like then?

A few of the essential things it must contain:
1. What your company can do for the customer
2. What you personally do, if its not obvious from the business description
3. Your name,
4. Your best contact number (don’t use a switchboard number, use your direct number and
show your cell-phone number)
5. Your company’s name

I have listed the criteria for the business card in a particular order. Do you notice something strange? I have put the company’s name last!

Your business card should be a “mini” sales letter for your business.

The card should have an attention grabbing headline, that will attract prospects like a magnet.

Imagine if you where a plumber, your headline could read something like
“Need a plumber, we are only 8 minutes away!”

Don’t you think it would grab someone’s attention, especially if they desperately needed a plumber and were frantically looking around for your card, while standing knee deep in water from a leaking toilet.

The last thing they want to do is try and remember what your company name is, so they can call you.

Make sure you include a proper working telephone number, its amazing the number of cards I have received, that have a disconnected number on it.

Include your cell-phone’s number as well. Its will make getting hold of you even easier.

Include your company name last.. Its the least important thing on your card.
Just remember the old marketing saying ” No-one is interested in your business, they are only interested in what you can do for them”

So think about turning your business card into a sales magnet..

Maybe its time for a re-think and possibly a redesign of your existing business card.

Remember, it should be your ‘mini’ salesman in a client’s wallet.

You want the card to keep reminding the client every time they see it, with what you do and what you can do for them.
