City of Sunderland College and the North East Regional Smartcard Consortium (NERSC), supported by Diginus Ltd, have embarked upon an exciting e-Learning journey with the roll out of student smart cards. Aimed at making student life more rewarding, and simplifying college administration, the smart card scheme is being delivered as part of the wider NERSC initiative.

NERSC are a consortium of 26 local authorities in the North East of England. The consortium has ambitious plans to deliver a multi application, strongly authenticated, smart card throughout the region. The cards will be used to access local services from both the public and private sectors; encompassing such activities as e-Health, e-Education, and access to sports, leisure and entertainment facilities. The successful City of Sunderland College roll out is the largest example to date, with many thousands of cards already in circulation. NERSC fully intend to be seen as a role model for other English and European regions in their adoption and deployment of these innovative technologies.

The initiative is underpinned by a highly secure digital identity solution using an Open Source Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology. This approach brings low cost yet robust and scalable technical solutions to this traditionally complex and expensive area. The PKI expertise is provided by Diginus Ltd, a leading player in PKI / smart card initiatives in both local government and business.

Other technology partners supporting NERSC include Fujitsu and ActivCard.

Facts and Figures: City of Sunderland College has upwards of 24,000 students and 900 staff. NERSC is a consortium of 26 local authorities in the North East of England.

Ecommerce is driving the new economy and the internet is primary facilitator. The internet is communication network that has revolutionized the way people access, share and use information The use of the Internet means that your internal IT and e-commerce systems are potentially accessible by anyone, irrespective of their location. SSL Certificate is the solution for all the above stated problems. SSL Certificates are guaranteed to be the most effective online security available today. The highest browser ubiquity the most effective and trusted it is considered.

The term browser ubiquity explains an SSL certificate’s browser compatibility i.e., the extent to which the Certification Authority’s (CA) Certificate is included in the Web browsers. SSL Certificates with 99.3% browser ubiquity are very easily compatible with Internet Explorer, AOL, Netscape, Opera, Safari, Mozilla, Firefox, Konqueror, Palm OS, BlackBerry OS, Microsoft Windows Mobile, Sun Java Runtime, ACCESS NetFront, Cingular WAP Gateways and Many Nokia devices.

A basic criterion to select a SSL Certificate today is browser ubiquity. Browser ubiquity means the number of Internet users that will inherently trust an SSL certificate. Few SSL Certificates are inherently trusted by 99.3% of the current Internet population, which is the maximum any CA is providing in the market. A High browser ubiquity means that most existing browsers recognize a given certificate and thus secure transactions can take place on those browsers.

Another consideration often overlooked concerning the overall ubiquity of a SSL certificate is the issue over certification authority. When connecting to a web server over SSL, the visitor’s browser decides whether or not to trust the web site’s SSL certificate based on which Certification Authority has issued the actual SSL certificate.

It is strongly recommended that all the websites should opt for an SSL Provider with 99% or above browser ubiquity, a 10% difference in browser ubiquity is equal to millions of Internet users who may not recognize your Certificate. The lower the browser ubiquity, the less people will trust your certificate, so if you are operating a commercial site you require as many people as possible to trust your SSL Certificate. As a general rule, any SSL Certificate with over 99% browser ubiquity is adequate for a commercial site.

The model acts as a value-added tool to initiate discussions of critical issues in today’s telecommunications industry. Quality Teaching staff are drawn primarily from the School of Technology and include experienced academic staff and recent recruits from the telecommunications industry. National Telecom Search Specializes in the hi-tech environment of the telecommunications industry, placing professionals in sales, management, marketing and technical careers. Average earnings in telecommunications greatly exceed average earnings throughout private industry. All of the major sectors of the telecommunications industry are or will increasingly use VoIP. Industry consolidation and strong price competition among telecommunications firms will decrease employment as companies try to reduce their costs.

State Legislation The telecommunications industry has recognized the potential threat of competition from public utilities and local governments in general. and NEC, TTIC is a leading company in the telecommunication industry. The FCC, consumer groups and the telecommunications industry are now discussing plans for educating the public about this cell phone/hearing aid compatibility standard. Xicom has developed solutions specifically for the telecommunications industry to complement Xicom’s traditional information technology solutions. The telecommunication services industry is made up of businesses mainly providing telecommunication services to the public by wire, cable or radio.

The latest telecommunication technology can be installed on your premises with the help of telecommunication consultation. This text is a part of a course-study in telecommunications technology. Programs in telecommunication management or telecom management address changing technology advances in system design and the implications this has on modern life. The course also will address telecommunications and networks, electronic commerce, decision support systems, security and ethical challenges, and global management of e-business technology.

Modern telecommunication systems make extensive use of time synchronization, and there is a link between the development of communications and time-keeping technology. However, the increasing standardization of telecommunications technology will limit their employment. Therefore the criticism that Marx makes of industrial technology does not apply to computer managed telecommunication technology. Long Island JobsSearch or browse local jobs in information technology, telecommunications and new media, post your resume, and find career events and other resources. The programme also addresses such areas as telecommunication architecture evolution, digital communication and radio technology. The rapid evolution of telecommunications technology demands a broad educational background including today’s technological breakthroughs. Communication technology and policy have increased in importance in recent years because of rapid technical progress and massive global investment in telecommunication infrastructure.

A plastics directory is a good example of a niche directory. Niche directories are usually more useful for buyers because they focus narrowly on their particular requirements. The needs of the target group can be identified more easily and the directory could cater very specifically to these needs.

While printed paper-based directories might still be published, these days, directories come mostly as online directories. Online directories are quicker and easier to use, and provide much more information needed by prospective buyers. Users of online directories can also get much more information about a supplier’s offers by clicking through to their websites, which is typically just one click away.

Plastics Directory

There are a huge variety of products made from plastics. The number of materials classified as plastics is quite large, and these materials are used to make both consumer and industrial products. Even recycling of plastics has become a big industry as plastic is not biodegradable and recycling could help the environment.

Then there are the incidental services related to plastics, such as consultancy, equipment supply and such.

This volume and variety makes plastics an ideal target for directory publishers.

Organization of a Plastics Directory

A plastics directory is a source for different kinds of information related to plastics. Users would be looking not only for products but also for plastic processing technologies, consultancy services, plastic machinery, trade leads, industry developments and so on. A good plastics directory would provide all these kinds of information.

Such a directory will allow users to search the directory by keywords, say, plastic wall cladding, or go to product categories such as automotive components or construction requirements, material categories such as PVC or FRP, related services such as consultancy or machinery supply, and so on. This allows users to quickly find what they are looking for.

Good directories typically seek to provide even more assistance to their users. There might be sections for Plastic-related Trade Leads, Tenders and Trade Events, Plastic News and Plastic Resources for example.

This complexity would need careful handling to make the directory user-friendly instead of a confusing mass of too many links.

Regional Plastics Directories

Business directories often seek to promote the businesses in particular regions. In such cases, their listings might be confined to businesses in a particular region. There are UK Plastic Directories, Indian Plastics Directories and so on. Sometimes, the directories could seek to promote even smaller regions as when a regional development agency produces listings of local businesses.

Conclusion

A plastics directory is a good example of a niche directory. The variety and volumes of plastic products, materials and sectors are huge enough to attract directory publishers. These directories typically organize the directories to make it possible to find entries by materials, applications, products, related services, etc.

Good plastics directories would enhance the value of the publication by including sections on plastic news, technology developments and other plastics-related resources.

Regional plastics directories seek to promote the plastics businesses in their particular regions, which can be countries or smaller development regions.
